Month of Microsoft: Ouch, Rovio. That hurts.

Rovio, maker of Angry Birds, tells Bloomberg it won’t create a version of Angry Birds Space for Windows Phone, because the platform is so tiny. “We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms,” a Rovio guy says. I don’t really give a crap about Angry Birds, but still: Ouch.

  1. Don’t see how this a surprise, birds have always hated windows.

  2. Karma is a bitch.

  3. “Beleaguered” anyone?

I think Metro is the best product Microsoft has had in a long time, and will make progress if they get in on some good mobile devices. If they can get to 5%-10% market share, that will have them on a par with almost any particular Android release, and developers will start supporting it.

The phone I tried, the software impressed but the hardware was meh. It didn’t support hardware encryption, so I couldn’t use ActiveSync with my Exchange server (a requirement by our admins).
