A town in Mississippi figured out a strategy. If you’re in Cupertino, you have two hours to swing into action.
I have been eating baked beans for three days straight just to mount a counter-offensive.
And I mean offensive.
Well, I’m not a fan of assaulting someone who has a different viewpoint, even if they are running their mouth. God knows there are couple dozen Red Wing fans I’ve wanted to knock out in the past; but you just don’t do it. Also can’t say I’m thrilled with the police “questioning” the protesters under _clearly_ false pretenses…
I _do_ like the “civil disobedience” (for lack of a better term) of blocking their cars and basically preventing the protesters from being able to make it to the funeral. Good non-violent solution that doesn’t violate anyone’s civil rights.
Want to really know how to stop them? Stop covering them. Get the local and national media to stop covering them. Edit the film to cut out any part that shows them.
They are bullies plain and simple. If no one pays any attention to them they will go away.
If only the press and general public didn’t feel the need to respond to morons…

I’ve read a few variations on this same story over the past year or so. Seems a bit urban legendy, to me. Fun to think about, but seems unlikely that it ever happened.
As someone from Kansas City and who’s had to deal with these pricks from their home base in Topeka, it kind of sucks that people only seemed to take them seriously enough to get *really* mad once they moved beyond good ol’ fashioned “fag hating” and started picketing service members.
The only way to stop them is to ignore them. Punch them and they win. Criticize them and they win. They moved on from local protests because our local communities learned to ignore them.
Just gun them down. I’ll look the other way.
I have no idea…ignore them. Seriously. It is a VERY small group of inbreeds..cousins marry cousins to keep the “Faith” alive. If there were no more TV crews, no one ever wrote an article or mentioned their name again. They would have no choice but to go away. The BBC did a great documentary on this group. Totally worth your time to watch.
Once the elder “father” dies (and lets hope it is soon for the sake of those children)it will be hard to keep this “Church” intake.

They are an extremely virulent form of a common disease that will continue in milder forms even if they die out. Some forms do more good than harm, some much more harm. (Or not much of either, I’d guess like when I was infected.)
The prospect of a cure or even an effective treatment seems remote. But I think sane people have a right to think what they like, it’s how one acts that is other people’s business too.

Well, we had no problems at Steve’s funeral.
Of course, since Larry, Ron Jeremy, and I were pall bearers, then I guess we scared them off.
On the other hand, Burrell Smith running around naked with a knife might have kept them away, who knows.
I love the Westboro folks. They have brass balls and don’t care about conforming to society’s namby-pamby, conventional morality. Dan Lyons is a Zionist Jew like Bill Maher who can’t relate to rebellion and authentic political incorrectness; he’s been a conformist his entire life.

How can you love people who want the soldiers that fight for our rights to die? They protest exercising their freedom of speech, but obliviously are to small minded to understand that without our military, they would not be able to do this.
